The Future of Wellness Amenities in Luxury Communities: Insights from The Residences Kierland’s Retreat
As wellness spaces continue to gain popularity in multi-family developments, Design-Art LLC is always seeking opportunities to learn from successful implementations. One of the largest and most developed wellness amenities we’ve had the pleasure of working on is The Retreat at The Residences Kierland. This luxury community offers an array of wellness-focused amenities designed to elevate residents' lifestyles, and we wanted to check in with Clarissa Sanchez, Community Manager at The Residences Kierland, to see how the space has been performing since its launch.
We asked their property manager, Clarissa, a series of questions to understand what has worked, what could be improved, and how wellness spaces are impacting residents’ experiences. Here’s what she had to say:
Q1: How has it been working with the 3rd party operator?
Clarissa Sanchez:
"Originally, we were working with a 3rd party spa vendor who ran their own business, but we didn’t see the resident interaction that we wanted, so we switched to a 3rd party spa vendor specializing in hotels called Soothe. They offer a more tailored program that our residents and the community benefit from in a more seamless way. We have heard great things from our residents, and they love this new program and its availability."
Q2: What is the most used element in The Retreat’s wellness offerings?
Clarissa Sanchez:
"It’s hard to pinpoint just one, but the cold plunge definitely gets used frequently, and the saunas are also a top choice. Everyone loves the locker rooms and all the amenities within them, but these two elements tend to be the most popular."
Q3: What is the least used element?
Clarissa Sanchez:
"The igloo room isn’t used as much as the other rooms in the locker room. While it’s a unique feature, it hasn’t seen the same level of engagement as the cold plunge or saunas."
Q4: How does The Retreat impact residents' decisions to choose The Residences Kierland?
Clarissa Sanchez:
"Whenever we show The Retreat, that’s typically when someone decides to make Residences Kierland their home. It’s truly the gem of our community, and many local developers visit just to see that space. I’m confident that in the future, we will see more wellness-focused amenities like this in luxury communities."
